Holcombe Moor Heritage Group’s dig director Neil Coldrick will talk about the 2018 excavations that have been taking place at Cinder Hill field in the Holcombe Valley, including an important discovery, which will rewrite the history of the Holcombe Valley and beyond. These excavations have uncovered evidence of medieval iron working in the form of a bloomery furnace and associated features, which may have links to the monks of Monk Bretton Priory.
